Ipsy Glam Bag Review: January

Ipsy Glam Bag Review: January

Here’s the Thing…

When I received this month’s Ipsy Glam Bag, I was a little worried.

The bag looked like it belonged to 90s Barbie: Swim Suit Edition.

Take a look for yourself:

Neon colors galore.

However, do not let the outside fool you! This bag was amazzzzzing and full of so many goodies! Stay tuned to hear what I picked as my product of the month!

Item #1: Ciate London Fierce Flicks Liquid Eyeliner

If you read my last Ipsy Review, you will know that I usually do not have good luck with eyeliner. (Shout out to hooded eyes!)

But I have gotten lucky two months in a row and have received some high quality eyeliners!

This eyeliner has a thin, precision tip, making it easy to achieve a subtle line that doesn’t smear throughout the day. Yay! It also dries rather quickly, which I think everyone can appreciate.

So if you are a fellow hooded-eye girl like me, or just want a fast-drying eyeliner, then this product is definitely for you!

Item #2: Preventive Measures 101 After Hours Lip Balm

I have about 5 million different Chapsticks, so I didn’t really know how I would find a use for this product.

However, I’ve noticed that my lips have been getting pretty dry lately after I put my foundation and then lipstick on. So I decided to keep this chapstick with all my makeup and put some on to keep my lips as moisturized as possible while doing my makeup in preparation for the lipstick.

So, yes, this is just chapstick. BUT I have found a practical use for it and it won’t just get lost at the bottom of my purse.

Item #3: Mudmasky Sleep Repair Mask

I am very big on keeping my face moisturized. So upon getting this face mask/moisturizer, I already had a skin care regime that involved careful moisturizing.

However, after using this product for the last couple weeks, I have actually noticed a difference in my skin! It is definitely softer and more moisturized on a daily basis. Plus, my skin will occasionally go through dry spells, but so far that hasn’t happened!

The sad thing about Ipsy is that you only get sample-sized products, so they usually don’t last long. But maybe this will be a product that I actually decide to purchase in the future!

Item #4: City Color Cosmetics Contour Palette

Whenever I hear the word ‘contour,’ it freaks me out so much. So when I received this product, I was a little scared of it.

In fact, I left it sitting in the bag for the entire first week I had it.

Finally, I decided to read the tutorial that went along with it and try it out. However, upon reading it, I learned that I did not have the correct brush I needed to use it properly.

For a brief moment, I decided to go out and purchase a new brush so I could try it out, but then I didn’t really want to spend the money on something that I wasn’t sure that I was going to like or continue using.

So call it not wanting to buy a brush or fear of contouring; either way, this product continues to sit on my counter, untouched and not looking like things will change anytime soon.

Item #5: Hola Neon Velvet Liquid Lipstick in DF

First of all, when I posted about this month’s bag on Instagram and tagged ‘Hola Neon’ in the photo, they sent me a message back! I absolutely love interacting with brands and other bloggers on Instagram, so that really made my day.

Also, I loooooove a good matte lipstick. This one is especially great because it stays on well and it is perfect for work because it is more subtle than my bright red long-lasting lipstick.

If you are looking for a lipstick that will stay on while drinking your morning coffee and is not too bold at work, then you should definitely try out this one.

Besides the scary contour palette, I was really happy with bag! There are a couple products in here, like the chapstick and lipstick, that I know will last me a long time.

However, my favorite product from this month’s bag definitely has to be the eyeliner!

I truly can’t describe how exciting it is for me to find an eyeliner that doesn’t smear onto my eyelids. I also received this as a full-sized product, so hopefully it lasts until Ipsy sends me another amazing eyeliner! (fingers crossed)

Also, I forgot to mention in my last post that I have a referral link and I earn points if you sign up! Yay! So if you are interested in trying out Ipsy, here is the link.

What were some of your favorite products from this month’s bag? Anything you would want to try from my bag?
